Poll: Which International Should Melbourne Ditch?

One important decision which Ernie Merrick will have to make in the next month is which international player he leaves out of the Melbourne Victory squad for the Asian Champions League.

Coaches have to get their 30-player squad lists in by the 11th of February. One of the stipulations is that each team can only have three foreign players.

This means that one of Melbourne’s four internationals is going to miss out on the Champions League.

Grant Brebner should be left out

Leandro Love is the one we probably have to leave out. Hasn’t really performed that well all season and will be leaving at the end of his loan period soon.

Grant Brebner, hasn’t done anything all season I don’t think and at least Love has a decent work rate.

Brebner *should* be left out, but he’s one of Ernie’s favourites.

Love will be omitted. In fact, I’d say he’ll be gone in January.

I think Keenan should miss out. He has been disappointing after coming with big wraps.

Apparently Brebner had been suffering from Osteitis Pubis throughout most of the season (if that’s the case then why play him?). Will he even recover from this for the Champions League, or if this illness is too severe will it hamper the rest of his career?

If Brebner has had an ongoing OP problem this might explain why he seems less imperious this season. If he’s still having problems then I’d say that automatically nominates him, otherwise I’d say Leandro and agree with the comments above, he hasn’t set the place alight. Definitely not Hernandez or Keenan.

All except Hernadez should go & if the rules permit an additional duo should be brought in. I’m thinking a forward that can actually score as well as another quality midfielder. (continue with sth american origin or even top asian players to pass on some knowledge of the conditions etc) Lets spend some $ for quality imports. The fans deserve it.

Keenen not given opportunity, shows potential when he has played. Brembner injury prone, Love struggles to stay on his feet! and Hernandez has not done alot

i reckon brebner should be left out. I can see alot of potential in leandro love and kennen hernandez is a must have.

leandro i dont think is used to the style of play but when he comes around he will be an excellent player. I watched him in the gamba osaka vs victory rematch and he was really coming around.

brebner isnt that great his getting older and more prone to injuries i thinks its time for him to go..
