I agree that Melbourne have been fairly disappointing the past few weeks. No excuses for Archies send off which will hurt Victory this weekend. Despite Melbourne being a bit out of form I felt that Newcastle deserved that win and they needed soemthing big to silence the critics. Now they can get on to challenge the title again :)

A pretty poor dispay by the boys reminiscent of the game against Qld. Seems our midfield was out of touch for most of it and we had no control whatsoever other than a small period in the second half.

Despite maintaining top spot MVFC and Syd have pretty poor form going into next weeks match each with only 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses in the past 4 matches and our win was against a woeful Perth Glory who didnt have much clue on the night. A battle for top spot but not a battle between form sides.

It is frustrating that we are going into a blockbuster match with only 1 of our 3 gun forwards. More frustrating is the fact that they are not sitting in the stand nursing an injury, which would be excusable - they are there through their own stupidity; and the team, and supporters, and the League, suffer because of it.

The players are well paid professionals and yet they are not professional enough to be agressive at the ball and bite their tongues at other times. Other sides will try and niggle us into loosing our cool since that seems to have worked 3 times this year (excl Hernandez's send off).

I recon it's time the boys had another group meeting and decided to put the team and supporters before their own self interests. The best retaliation is on the score board not with a mouthful of expletives (spit sometimes included) or a stomp on a foot.
